Privacy Policy

Deep Cinema Film Club is a film club and clothing label based in Los Angeles, California. This page explains what we do with the information you give us. It is short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you type it into the form on this site or submit it through a sign-up form inside an Instagram or Facebook ad. If you sign up through one of those ad forms, Meta may pre-fill your email address and, where the form asks for it, your name, from your account. Nothing is sent to us until you tap submit.
- Basic usage data about how you reached this site and what you did on it, collected through the Meta Pixel and our hosting provider. This includes things like your approximate location, browser, device type and referring page. We do not use it to identify you personally.
We do not ask for your phone number, your address or any payment details on this site. If and when we start selling things, payment information will be handled by the payment provider and never stored by us.
Why we collect it
To email you when the shop opens, when we screen something, and when we make something new. That is the entire purpose. We do not sell, rent or trade your email address to anyone.
Who else touches it
- Google. Sign-ups from the form on this site are written to a Google Sheet through Google Apps Script.
- Meta Platforms. Sign-ups from an Instagram or Facebook ad form are held by Meta until we download them. Meta also processes the pixel data described above so we can measure and target our advertising.
- Our email provider. When we start sending emails, your address will be stored with the service we use to send them.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data it processes on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to remove it, or until we stop running the club. Sign-ups collected through Meta ad forms are deleted from Meta's own systems after 90 days; we download them before then and keep them with the rest of the list.
Getting off the list
Every email we send will have an unsubscribe link. You can also message us on Instagram at @deepcinemafilmclub at any time and ask us to delete your address, and we will, without asking you why.
Advertising choices
You can limit how Meta uses your activity for advertising in your Instagram or Facebook ad preferences. Most browsers and phones also let you block third-party cookies or reset your advertising identifier, which limits what the pixel can see.
If you are in California
You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the sense the CCPA uses those words, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. To exercise any of these rights, message us at the account above.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
